I am a well-known teacher of Adult and K-12 education. As a Wake County public school alumni and East Carolina University graduate of English education, I began my career in education as an English instructor for children based in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong-kong; as well as taught as an ESL instructor to children based in Veracruz, Mexico. Upon the outbreak of Covid, I made the decision to come back home and continue teaching as an adult instructor, Contracting with Wake Technical community college and Duke University. Although I love being an instructor for adults, I desired to reconnect with the children and go back to the classroom , so I accepted a position as a Middle school English teacher at a local K-9 vocationally lead school where I currently teach.
  • Vocational education must be our top priority as board members, educators and scholars. It is my top priority to advocate for all public schools of Wake County to implement Vocational studies within our school/ curricular design and elective options. All children deserve the opportunity to obtain knowledge and skill of their desired lifelong practice and, or , career; and we as board member and educators are able and qualified to implement and support this initiative. It is necessary for us as board members to recognize this necessity needed in our school for our scholars to gain life goals and be career ready.
  • Cultural diversity recognition within our schools curriculum and building design is essential to preserving and being proud of our nation, and teaching true American history. Also including vocational education options and real world, problem- based learning experiences for students wanting to reach advanced academic levels. Targeting real world problems within their subject of choice; in efforts to preserving our future and being able to compete academically and on a globalized level
  • Teacher vacancy is an urgent matter in which must be resolved immediately. for the betterment of our scholars, we must adequately support our teacher. As a teacher myself, it will always be my continuous obligation to advocate for adequate teachers’ pay and support in their area of expertise. Increasing teachers’ pay will assist in recognizing and uplifting our quality teachers, in efforts to supporting teachers economically and within their areas of focus, advocating for teacher retention in our schools.
I am very passionate in supporting and promoting policies in which uplift the lives of marginalized and minority American Citizens. I am dedicated to creating and promoting policies focused on equality, equity and restorative justice; reparations. As a board member, I am in full support of the Leandro case and am also dedicated to creating future policies in which will provide adequate equitable recourses to all scholars of Wake county for higher learning and vocational practices.
All student deserve an equal opportunity to adequate higher education.
