Dale Mantey participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on February 26, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Dale Mantey's responses follow below.[1]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | 1) Creating a public option healthcare system 2) Protecting public education |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | Health policy. I have worked on health related public policy on the city, county, and state level. It is both my passion and my profession.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]
|
” |
Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Dale Mantey answered the following:
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
“ | I am a 28 year old epidemiologist, meaning I approach everything from a data-driven perspective. As a scientist, I stand up for science. Further, I am from a town of 5,000 people that has experienced the devastating effects of lost manufacturing jobs. We are a rust belt town in the middle of central Texas. This combination of backgrounds makes me an ideal candidate for central Texas.[3] | ” |
“ | You must show up. We have a representative that blocks users on Facebook and twitter. He refused to hold in-person townhalls. Simply put -- he refuses to show up. I will change that. I have held nearly a dozen town halls, just through the Democratic Primary.[3] | ” |
“ | I want to always represent my district. Not my donors, not even my party. I will always represent the people of Texas 17th Congressional District.[3] | ” |
