Mensing was a 2014 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of California.[2] Dale Mensing lost the general election on November 4, 2014.
Biography
Mensing graduated from Bob Jones Academy in 1976. He later attended Bob Jones University for 2 years. From 1979 to 1983, he served in the Navy as a neuro-psychiatric technician in the Navy's Hospital Corp. Mensing then became a medical courier.[3]
Mensing worked for 14 years at a supermarket called Shop Smart Food Warehouse. He then worked for the postal service for six years and became the postmaster of Laytonvile, CA. In 2008, he returned to the same supermarket to his present position as a cashier.[3]

2016
Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent Jared Huffman (D) defeated Dale Mensing (R) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Huffman and Mensing defeated Erin Schrode (D) and Matthew Robert Wookey (Independent) in the top-two primary on June 7, 2016.[4][5]

Mensing ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent California's 2nd District. Mensing and incumbent Jared Huffman advanced past the blanket primary on June 3, 2014, defeating Andy Caffrey (D). Mensing was then defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014.[6][7]
