Dallas R-1 Annexation to Laclede C-5 School District (April 2011)
A Dallas R-1 Annexation to Laclede C-5 School District question was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in both Dallas and Laclede County.
This measure was defeated in Dallas county but approved in Laclede county.[1]
This measure asked residents in the Dallas County R-1 school district area on the county line with Laclede county if it should be annexed to the Laclede C-5 school district.[2] Dallas county would lose federal and state money if this measure was approved since funds are based on student population. Since the measure was approved in one county and defeated in another then the Department of Elementary and Secondary schools will decide the redistricting.[3]
