Elections for the city council of New Orleans, Louisiana consisted of a primary election on February 1, 2014, and a general election on March 15, 2014. Jared Brossett (D) defeated Joseph Bouie (D) and Dalton Savwoir Jr. (D) in the primary election. Because Brossett won over 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election was not necessary.[3][2]
