Montana: Gov. Schweitzer has appointed a replacement for Judge David Rice of Montana's 12th Judicial District Court. Dan Boucher, a sole practitioner and regional deputy public defender in Havre, MT, will join this court on December 1, 2010.

Boucher received his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Montana in 1980 and 1984, respectively. Prior to becoming a public defender and private practice lawyer, he worked for the Frank Altman law firm, beginning in 1984. He has also worked as a part-time deputy Hill County attorney.

To retain the judgeship, Boucher must run for re-election in 2012.[1]
