Born and raised in New Jersey, Dan attended Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell. He then went on to get his Bachelors in Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, and now enjoys working as a Co-Founder at Players' Lounge After years of witnessing the inefficiencies and failures of the government, Dan has been driven to run for office. If elected, he plans to present bills to Congress that propose viable solutions to the problems facing people in the 8th District.
I believe in limited, responsible government. Our current federal government has become far too large, corrupt, and wildly inefficient. Many things that the government tries to do, the free market could do better. I would like to remove unnecessary licensing requirements and barriers to entry for small businesses, which would result in job creation and the stimulation of local economies. I would like to end foreign military interventions, reign in wasteful government spending, and eliminate unnecessary programs. I would like to see Americans keep more of their paycheck so that they can spend their hard earned dollars on goods and services in their local communities, helping each other grow and stimulating the economy.
Ron Paul. He has heavily influenced my political views, and watching his YouTube videos in college woke me up to the dangers our country is facing that the mainstream media does not talk about. I aspire to be like him and affect a positive change on our country.
Honesty and sincerity in why that person is running for office and wants to hold that seat is very important. Too many politicians lie their way into getting elected and then do the complete opposite of the platform they ran on once they're in office.
I am not drawn to the power that comes with holding the office of a US House Representative. I am running because I can no longer sit back and watch how these people are destroying our country and our livelihood. If elected I promise to only use my powers for good and not for personal gain to entertain lobbyists.
To uphold the United States Constitution, limit the Federal Government's involvement in our lives unless absolutely necessary, and to lookout for and protect the American people every day.
A voting record of supporting freedom, less government intervention, and prosperity for the American people.
My first job was at the A&P grocery store where I stocked the shelves of the Dairy aisle. I worked there for about 2 years during high school on nights and weekends.
The Revolution: A Manifesto, by Ron Paul
Take the Power Back by Rage Against the Machine
It can be for parliamentary reasons, but I hope to bring a fresh perspective to Congress as a software engineer with a unique view on things.
1) Reigning in our uncontrolled spending, especially our tax dollars spent on foreign interventionist wars that are none of our business.

2) Stopping the erosion of our civil liberties by governments, both State and Federal.

3) Getting the government out of the way of small businesses so they can operate freely and thrive.
Yes, the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, the Small Business Committee, and Oversight and Reform Committee.
We need them. No more than 8 years total for a given person in a seat. There are too many life-long corrupt politicians destroying our country every day.
Justin Amash. His record is outstanding, and I love how he explains every vote he makes to his constituents via social media.

What is your political philosophy?

I believe in limited, responsible government. Our current federal government has become far too large, corrupt, and wildly inefficient. Many things that the government tries to do, the free market could do better. I would like to remove unnecessary licensing requirements and barriers to entry for small businesses, which would result in job creation and the stimulation of local economies. I would like to see Americans keep more of their paycheck so that they can spend their hard earned dollars on goods and services in their local communities, helping each other grow and stimulating the economy.

I am young and have a long life ahead of me. I am passionate about the future of our country. Our government is only getting bigger and bigger as our national debt climbs higher and higher, and this trend is unsustainable. We need to come together and fix the problems now to pave the way for a free and successful United States of America. [5]

—Dan Delaney[6]

2016

Delaney made the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding his political philosophy:[7]

I believe in limited, responsible government. Our current federal government has become far too large, corrupt, and wildly inefficient. Many things that the government tries to do, the free market could do better (for example, the Department of Motor Vehicles, mail delivery by the US Postal Service, etc.).

I am 26 years old with a long life ahead of me. I am passionate about the future of our country. I believe government is only getting bigger and bigger as our national debt climbs higher and higher, and this trend is unsustainable. We need to come together and fix the problems now to pave the way for a free and successful United States of America. [5]
