I am a 26-year resident of Tracy, a father, a community advocate and a project manager. When my wife Tiffany and I moved to Tracy in 1996, our town was one of promise and hope. Two and a half decades later, we see spiking violent crime, a homelessness situation that we cannot seem to make progress on, unsafe parks and failing roadways. I have been actively engaged in our city council meetings and speaking out about these issues in every meeting for over three years.

As a 27-year career project manager, I have experience developing strong teams, building effective processes and resolving complex problems. To put it in fewer words- I know how to get things done and fix what is broken in Tracy.

I feel strongly that our current city council is out of alignment with the needs of Tracy residents. I have declined big developer and industrial contributions, and I am ready to finally put Tracy residents first. I am fed up with politicians making promises they don't keep- this is why I call my campaign a battle for REAL change.

Thank you,

Dan Evans

  • Public Safety- With a violent crime spike of 21%, it is time to fully fund our police department and provide direction to tamp down on crime in Tracy. Our children and families deserve a safe city and this is exactly what I intend to provide.
  • Homelessness- I have met with our unhoused, county outreach teams, city outreach teams and Tracy PD, at all four encampments in Tracy. I’ve also met with residents that live in the impacted neighborhoods around El Pescadero Park. As a career project manager, I am appalled at the failure of our city council to build the fully funded homeless shelter. I have the right experience to get the shelter built and our parks cleaned for our families.
  • Roadways and Amenities- It is time for Tracy to shift our focus away from rampant growth of homes and warehouses and towards updating our roadways and quality businesses. I intend to fully fund our transportation plan to bring Tracy's roadways into the 21st century. As a business owner myself, I understand the unique struggles small businesses face in Tracy. I have a plan to change Tracy's business climate to a culture of being proactively pro-business. We'll streamline processes and actively pursue businesses Tracyites want.

Public safety is my number one priority. Tracy's families deserve to be protected and safe, no matter what neighborhood you live in. Making real progress on our homeless situation will go hand-in-hand with getting public safety under control.

I am also very passionate about addressing the fact that Tracy is ranked as the 2nd worst commute town in the United States (2017 study by the University of the West of England). Several years ago Forbes noted Tracy is the next location to build a large business park that will provide career jobs. Instead of pursuing this, Tracy's long-time politicians pursued expansive warehousing interests. As our city was not pursuing a business center, Lathrop has stepped up to fill the void and build their own career business complex. Now is the time for Tracy to change course and bring this opportunity to fruition. My experience makes me uniquely qualified to get this done. Tracy residents deserve to live and work in the same city, in a home they own.
