Dan Gibbs is the Colorado Executive Director of Natural Resources. Gibbs assumed office in 2019. Gibbs' current term ends on January 12, 2027.
Gov. Jared Polis (D) appointed Gibbs to the Colorado Executive Director of Natural Resources on January 9, 2019. The Colorado State Senate approved Gibbs' nomination on February 5, 2019.[1][2]
Gibbs is a former Democratic member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 16 from 2007 to 2011. He also served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2006 to 2007.
Biography
Gibbs graduated from Western State College. His professional experience includes working as manager of the White Water Rafting Company, staff for United States Representative Mark Udall, certified type II wildland firefighter for the Timber Industry, ski coach at a local high school, and director of the Western Slope Office of United States Congressman Mark Udall.

On November 4, 2008, Gibbs was elected to the 16th District Seat in the Colorado State Senate, defeating opponent Don Ytterberg (R).[3]
Gibbs raised $122,690 for his campaign, while Ytterberg raised $63,509.[4]
