McGuire (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Merrimack 14. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Dan McGuire earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986. McGuire's career experience includes working as an investor, a computer engineer, an assistant professor of computer engineering with the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a software development manager with 8x8, Inc. He has served on the Epsom Planning Board, on the board of Granite State Taxpayers and the Josiah Bartlett Center, and as the chair of the Suncook Valley GOP.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent Mary Frambach and Denis R. Beaudoin, Sr. were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Dan McGuire and Michael Brewster defeated David Palfrey in the Republican primary. Frambach, Beaudoin, McGuire and Brewster faced off in the general election.[2] Brewster and incumbent McGuire defeated Beaudoin and incumbent Frambach in the general election.[3]

McGuire advanced past the September 14 primary election. He faced incumbent Carol McGuire (R), Michael Brewster (D), Mary Frambach (D), Jon Richardson (R), and Tony Soltani (R) in the November 2 general election.
