Myers' campaign website highlighted the following issues:

- Early Childhood Development: I am fortunate enough to have married into a family of child-development specialists (educated at our beloved UCO no less) and have learned more than I ever knew possible about how to set a child up for success as an adult. The first 5 years of human life are crucial for laying the foundation for a successful adult life. Oklahoma has been one the of leading states within early childhood education for the last 40 years, but we cannot afford to stagnate in this area. I view early childhood services as very important and I will do my best to ensure we continue to lead the nation in this field and support it in any way I can.
- Education: I have long held the belief that 'education is the universal cure-all'. The thought first came to me as a solution to social problems, but the more I thought about it, the more universally it seemed to apply. Today, I think my point is made by the financial crisis our state is in. We have failed to view education as important enough to invest our resources into, above a settled upon 'bare minimum'. Given that mentality, I would say that our teachers have done an outstanding job out of sheer strength of character. You, me, we, must be educated on the options out there as far as education is concerned, and their results. For me, the evidence suggests that we can get the results we want, with a prioritized, public education system that is cutting-edge. But we're a long ways away as far as technology, funding, mindset. Oklahoma has some of the best raw materials around; our people. It's time we joined together to raise one another up, and it starts in the schools.
- Elderly Care: It's no secret that our society struggles to adequately revere it's seniors. I don't think it's intentional, I just think that the casual pace many of the elderly have, the 'C'est la vie' attitude that many folks adopt on their 60's or 70's runs counter to our hustle and bustle lifestyle. And today, we are seeing our loved ones, who have largely gotten us to the point we are at today as a society, being forsaken by the very government they have supported through thick and thin. It's not right. Brian Doyle Murray says it best as Clark's boss in Christmas Vacation when he says, 'I guess a healthy bottom line doesn't mean much if to get it, you have to hurt the people you depend on'. I'm all for non-profits taking care of the widowed and orphaned, and elderly, but the infrastructure exists within our government. We can do the most good if we support it, hold it accountable, and help to guide it.
- Edmond: What more can be said about our awesome city? We have great schools, great property values, great economic development. But, let us recognize that none of this is guaranteed. History is full of once mighty cities that lost sight of what was important, and became shadows of themselves. District 81 includes Fink Park, Hafer Park, and numerous other parks and green spaces that, if we're not intentional about preserving, could disappear in the name of more housing in the best suburb in Oklahoma. Studies have shown, you could tell stories, I could tell stories, our children's memories could recount all of the ways that outside time has made lives better and improved development. I will do everything I can to make sure that our priorities remain a healthy balance of development, and natural spaces for future generations to enjoy.[1]
