The general election was held on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on August 30, 2016. The filing deadline for those wishing to run in this election was June 1, 2016.[1] Incumbent Joe Arpaio defeated Dan Saban, Marsha Hill, and Wayne Baker in the Maricopa County sheriff primary election.[2]
