|Active in the community, Dana serves on the board of Inspiredu, a non-profit that works to bridge the digital divide, and several years after surviving breast cancer in 2013, she became the official spokesperson for TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation.
Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Dana attended Cornell University and graduated with a degree in Hospitality Administration before moving to the metro Atlanta area in the late 1980s.
An empty-nester since 2010, Dana raised her daughter Lauren as a divorced, working single mom and says that is the accomplishment she is most proud of.- Dana Barrett is committed to protecting the integrity of our elections by fully funding and supporting the Fulton County Department of Registration & Elections. Because this county was directly targeted with baseless claims of fraud by Donald Trump in 2020 and continues to be targeted now, it is critical that we defend and protect these elections so that every Georgia voter has equal access to cast their ballot and so that every Georgia vote is counted.
- Dana Barrett is committed to improving public safety through more effective prosecution and ensuring equal justice with programs that provide alternatives to incarceration for those who can be diverted from a life caught up in the system.

|As a talk radio host for the last 5 years, I realized that sharing my views with listeners who already agree with me, might make us all feel good, but it wasn't going to change the system.
I'm a single working Mom, and I don't accept that women, and especially women of color, are paid less than men. That has to change.
As a breast cancer survivor, who has despaired over huge medical bills, I don't accept that getting sick, should make you poor, while insurance companies get rich. Or that we should let our neighbors die because they can't afford their medicine. That has to change.
I don't accept that one sentence written over 200 years ago is a good enough reason to allow mass shootings to continue unchecked. I don't believe that the government should have agency over my body, or tell me who I can love or marry. I don't accept that we are spending trillions of dollars for a gridlocked government. These are just some of the things that need to change.
I'm running because I believe we have to get in the system to change the system, and I need your help to do it!- Improve Personal Economic Health
