I’m a business owner, mom of 5, and former social worker. I get things done and do what is right for my constituents based on facts, not party affiliation or pressure from others. I am supported by leaders on both sides of the isle and believe we need to work together to accomplish what’s best for our county. I believe in fiscal responsibility and maintaining our beautiful parks and roads in a financially responsible manner that spends your tax dollars wisely.
  • I am proactive and get things accomplished. I do not sit idly by and wait for others to make important decisions or bring legislation to me. If I see something wrong - I do something about it. Like holding local government accountable for following ordinances and making decisions that benefit all and are fair. For example getting the school board and city to work together to increase safety at the high school, and being an activist to stop the common council from authorizing a business that goes against the UDO and will have detrimental harmful effects on the whole city financially and otherwise. I advocate for what is right for everyone.
  • I work well with others and believe that is incredibly important in this position. Having working relationships with business leaders, local officials, and other board supervisors is how to accomplish goals and get resources dedicated to your district. My training as a social worker and experience as a business owner helps me be able to effectively communicate with all people.
  • I have support from individuals and groups on both sides of the isle and believe this position needs to remain ‘non-partisan’ like it is advertised. At this level people are concerned about how their tax dollars are being spent and that should remain the focus. Keeping the board responsible for making financial decisions that are responsible and not wasteful in all areas.
I want to focus on maintaining parks and roadways in a cost effective manner. I’m interested in the following committees: Parks and Culture, Community Environment and Economic Development, and Health Equity Strategic Planning.
I look up to people in my circle who are successful at what they do, whether it be business owners, or politicians. I follow people who have integrity and maintain their values when they are successful. I learn from how they operate and ask questions when I don’t know the answers. I follow people who want others to succeed and are willing to help them get there too.
Honesty, a sense of fairness, and transparency. Being able to work well with others and to be an advocate for their constituents.
I’m a good listener, motivated, organized, honest, fair, friendly, outgoing, and a good communicator. I know how to get things done and am willing to put in hard work to advocate for what I believe in.
Making sure tax dollars are spent wisely, to work to maintain what attracts people to our area, and to work with local elected leaders and businesses to accomplish goals.
I would like m legacy to be that of serving the community and lifting others up. I believe we all succeed together and there is room for everyone to succeed.
The Challenger exploding on live TV was the first memorable historical event. I was 10 years old watching it happen at school. What a sad time for everyone involved.
I grew up on a farm doing chores since I was a young kid. My first W2 job was working at Shoney’s restaurant as a salad bar attendant. I worked there for many years as a teenager. I often had multiple jobs, was involved in sports, and maintained excellent grades as a kid. My first job after college was working for Milwaukee Co CPS. I worked there for 9 years.
I love to read so this is difficult. Ender’s Game and that series is one of my favorites. That series involved a child overcoming tough circumstances to save the world but doesn’t know that’s what he’s doing. In the end he figures it out and discovers we don’t have to fight the enemy we should embrace them and have empathy for them. It also has a spiritual side of the book that explains how we are all connected.
I was the first person in my family to go to college. I struggled financially and overcame to receive not one but 2 college degrees. As an adult, I went through a difficult divorce during the housing market collapse. I was a single mother with infant twins and a pre-schooler. This was a difficult time financially, emotionally, and spiritually for my whole family. I persevered and came out stronger than ever with the help of my circle.
I love a good Dad Joke. Why didn’t the skeleton go to the dance? He had no body to go with!
Franklin Mayor John Nelson, Milwaukee Area Labor Council, and many individuals involved in the community. Donald Schwartz, LuAnn Bird, James Luckey, Kevin Haley, Robin Matchett Schmidt, Stephen Millet, Sonji Millet, and many more.
I believe in 100% financial transparency and accountability. I have a track record to prove I have asked those things of my local elected officials and worked to make it happen even when they didn’t cooperate. Choices were made that were not above board and despite criticism from some, myself and 400 other constituents persisted. In the end everyone won and property values were saved.
