Daniel Alvarez (Nonpartisan) was a candidate for judge of the Kentucky 30th District Court 9th Division in Kentucky. Alvarez advanced from the primary on May 22, 2018, but he passed away on May 23, 2018.[1] The general election was held on November 6, 2018. Alvarez did not appear on the ballot.

Alvarez was a 2015 candidate for the 30th District Court in Kentucky.[2][3]

Biography

Danny Alvarez graduated from Francis High School in 1997. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Louisville in 1997 and a J.D. from Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Lousiville in 2000. Alvarez's career experience includes working as an attorney at his own firm, Daniel M. Alvarez, PLLC.[4]

The judges of the Kentucky District Courts are elected in nonpartisan elections. They serve four-year terms and must run for re-election if they wish to serve again.[5][6]

Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[5]

  • a U.S. citizen;
  • a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
  • licensed to practice law for at least two years.
