I am a former member of the Princeton Board of Education, community leader and a former COO of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
  • I am a moderate Democrat who seeks to work with others collaboratively to address issues that are unresolved to improve the lives of our citizenry and to move our nation forward. I believe that moderates are the vital center of American politics and moderate leaders, ideas and alliances have been critical to making out political system work throughout our nation's history.
  • The Framer's of our Constitution designed the House with short two year terms to be most responsive to the people and to encourage new representatives with new ideas, energy and priorities to Congress. I support age and term limits to prevent career politicians from dominating the People's agenda.
  • I believe that our best days lie ahead but we need a functional congress to reach our full potential as a nation. Last year, Congress voted over 700 times but only 27 of those votes made it into law due to divisions and extremism. The people expect us to work together with mutual respect, employ common sense solutions based upon accurate information and data and to compromise when necessary.
I am passionate about high quality public education as it is the foundation of the American Dream. I will fight for a strong economy with stable prices and will protect reproductive rights, our environment and preserve our democracy. I am passionate about access to affordable health care as a right.

I am passionate about reforming our immigration policies to allow safer pathways and opportunities for legal immigration while securing our borders, particularly the southern border.
Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela for their ability to cure injustice and transform their countries peacefully.

Campaign website

Dart’s campaign website stated the following:

My Pledge To Keep

Dear Friends,

Congress is broken. I heard the call and am compelled to announce my campaign for the Democratic nomination for Congress in the 12th District of New Jersey. The primary is on June 4th.

We deserve a functional congress to move our nation forward. Last year, despite over 700 votes, only 27 bills became law, one of the least productive years in Congress in modern history.

As a moderate Democrat with a proven track record, I will work with members of both parties to solve problems using common sense practical solutions. It is time for a New Voice and a New Vision.

Below are some of the important issues that I intend to highlight:

  • The need for a strong, growing economy with stable prices.
  • Securing the southern border and immigration reform.
  • Protecting our environment.
  • Preserving our freedoms including the freedom to choose.
  • National Security, supporting and partnering with our Democratic allies around the world.

I believe in term limits. The incumbent is a career politician who has served in the New Jersey General Assembly for 17 years and is now running for her sixth term in Congress.

I appreciate your support and would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Sincerely,
Daniel Dart [2]
