Daniel J. Swords is the first justice for the Hampden Juvenile Court in Hampden County, Massachusetts.[1] He was nominated to the court by former Governor William Weld in May 1994.[2] Swords may serve on the court until he turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[3]

Education

Swords received his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross and his J.D. from the Western New England College School of Law.[4]

Career

Before he joined the Hampden Juvenile Court in 1994, Swords worked as an attorney in private practice. He also previously served as a prosecutor in the Hampden district attorney’s office from 1980 to 1982 and as a probation officer for the Springfield District Court from 1972 to 1980.[4]
