Daniel J. Kelly is the chief judge for the 31st Circuit Court, the 72nd District Court, and the St. Clair County Probate Court in Michigan. He was appointed to the court in 1994 by former Governor John Engler. On November 4, 2008, he was re-elected to his current six-year term, ending on January 1, 2015.[1][2] On November 4, 2014, Kelly was re-elected unopposed for another six-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[3]

Kelly received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from Wayne State University.[4]

Career

From 1982 until his appointment to the 31st Circuit Court in 1994, Kelly served as a judge for the 72nd District Court. He also previously served with the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps and worked as an attorney in private practice.[4]
