Expand all | Collapse all

Daniel Lee was born and raised in Texas. I’m a family and civil litigation attorney for the last 17 years and it will help my position for HD 26 because I know poorly written and bad laws. I can identify negative impact of the laws as soon as they are being drafted before they start hurting citizens. I live with my beautiful wife Vanessa and have raised our children through Public schools in Fort Bend County. We also live with our 4 cats and dog Katinka.
  • With a record budget surplus of $37.2 billion, Texas legislators could not find the money to invest in public schools. However they instead tried to fund private school vouchers. Good teachers deserve good pay. Additionally school vouchers are welfare for the rich, and take money and attention away from our public schools. Our public schools are required to have officers in each school, but currently have less than half of what is needed to fund proper security. Retired teachers need a cost-of-living adjustment and our retired teachers have earned that. We need to design a long-term plan for their health care costs.
  • Immigration- We need to improve border management and address the root causes. We need common sense solutions that protect human life, while not violating international treaties.
  • Texas can prevent future mass shootings at schools by enacting secure firearm storage laws, raise age to purchase semi-auto firearms, background checks on all gun sales, build a culture of secure gun storage and create evidence-based crisis assessment/prevention programs in schools. I would propose those bills and create awareness of the above plans to work with schools to create programs that are understood by parents and teachers alike.
Texas with a constantly growing population and so many from out of state moving here. I believe that flooding and the power grid affects our community the most as far as infrastructure improvements that are of immediate need. Katy and Texas are both growing and we need to keep our persons and property safe from natural and potential man-made disasters. I believe that if we regulate and maintain as much of the Katy Prairie as possible we can protect the property owners and citizens from flooding in the future.
Any book that is the opposite of the Animal Farm or 1984 would be pretty close to my philosophy of do no harm.
Honesty, integrity and transparency. Elected officials should be honest and transparent with their constituents no matter how bad the news is. Elected Officials should also be available to listen to their community.
Anyone elected to this office should focus on what the citizens need and address the issues related to this community as priority number 1.
I was a line cook at a Chinese restaurant. It last my entire senior year.
A relationship were both are working together to actually help and protect the interests of all Texans.
Our children and public schools, as well as the power grid.
Yes its absolutely beneficial to have prior experience. I've had experience in working in the Texas state legislature in the past and I truly believe that my legal background as an attorney make me the best and more qualified candidate.
Yes its beneficial because to pass any laws working with others will accomplish actual laws being passed to help all Texans.
Community ties transcend party barriers. We have heard stories of our community coming together during Harvey or Beryl helping each other get through the hard times together and lean on each other for strength.
I believe we elect representation and not dictators. When we cast our votes it should not be for a dictator.
I would introduce a bill that would properly fund our public schools, leading to our teachers getting paid fairly, our children being more safe at schools and
Because I have children in public schools, Public Education. Juvenile Justice and Family Issues due to my background as a family law attorney for 17 years. As a civil attorney I would be interested in the Judiciary & civil Jurisprudence committee.
No because it may result in potential voter suppression.
