I’m a Firefighter Paramedic for the City of Chicago working at the Department of Education at the Chicago Fire Department as an Instructor Bilingual Officer. I am founder and President of Latin@s First Responder Alliance nonprofit.
  • Public Safety- As a community paramedic I know first hand that we need mental health resources to ensure that we reach people where they are and address their needs. This is the first step for public safety. We need to reconnect and rebuild our relationship with law enforcement to ensure that we have a community responsibility and police accountability at the forefront of the best interest for our communities.
  • Housing- affordable housing is a human right. We need ti be transparent with the roots of our community and really help our families become home owners. Access to the right tools, resources, and guidance to survive in this uneven economy.
  • Education - access to educational programs and equal opportunities in trade schools, colleges and universities need to be available as a path at a very early on stage in a child’s education. Free breakfast and lunch for all students regardless of income brackets needs to be implemented.
Access to affordable healthcare is a very close issue for me. We need to ensure that our elders are taken care of, from their living conditions to navigating the healthcare system. They should not have to pay for anything out of pocket. To many barriers are put in place for them to fall in the cracks.
A budget that is 1.5 million dollars that the community should know about. This budget is for the district and as a community we should vote on what we with it.
Raised in the community and understanding how the community feels is important. Outsiders do not understand how our community was built. I know because this community raised me.
