Daniel Santiago
Daniel Santiago was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 6B of the Idaho House of Representatives.
Campaign themes
2012
Santiago's campaign website listed the following issues:[1]
- Natural Resources
- Excerpt: "I enjoy spending my spare time kayaking, rafting, and camping. I truly enjoy the outdoors as does my family with Property and a Cabin in Dixie, Idaho."
- Education
- Excerpt: "I stand behind the Students Come First laws that were passed in the 2011 session. Not only do they provide students and teachers with the tools they need for promoting a “more than modern” and 21st century learning environment these laws allow the teachers the room they need to teach."
- Taxes
- Excerpt: "Governments don’t run on a zero budget and people don’t work for the privilege of paying taxes. Removing tax burdens doesn’t happen overnight either. We as a State have certain obligations we must pay"
- Healthcare
- Excerpt: "The Government is not a Hospital, not a Medical Clinic, and not an Insurance provider. Therefore the Government has no business in healthcare. Healthcare is a private sector concern and can regulate itself."
- Jobs
- Excerpt: "We need business to come to Idaho and we need them to employ our citizens. When I look around I am looking to see why they are not coming and what we can do to fix the problem. When I look at our best employers I see manufacturers. What I see as a wall keeping them out of Idaho is the high Corporate Income Tax rate."
