Daniel Schmidt
Daniel Schmidt was a judge of the Illinois 3rd District Appellate Court. He assumed office in 2002. He left office on July 5, 2022.
Schmidt ran for re-election for judge of the Illinois 3rd District Appellate Court. He did not appear on the ballot for the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Schmidt died on July 5, 2022.[1]
Education
Schmidt graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.A. degree in 1974 and then received his J.D. degree from Washington University in 1983.[2]
Career
Judge Schmidt worked as a trial attorney for 19 years before joining the appellate court in 2002. Prior to receiving his law degree, he worked as a police officer in Peoria for nine years.[2]

Schmidt's retention election was canceled after he withdrew.[3]
