Daniel Webster (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Florida's 11th Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2017. His current term ends on January 3, 2027.

Webster (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Florida's 11th Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the 2026 election.[source]

Biography

Webster was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1949, and raised in FL.[1] He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, and graduated in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.[2] He previously worked as an air conditioning and heating contractor, and as an electrical engineer.[1][3] Webster previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998, and in the Florida Senate from 1998 to 2008. He served as speaker of the House from 1996 to 1998 and as senate majority leader from 2006 to 2008.[4]

District 10 incumbent Daniel Webster (R) defeated Dave Koller (D) and Bruce Ray Riggs (I) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Webster defeated Justin Grabelle in the Republican primary on August 30, 2016.[10][11]

Webster won re-election to the U.S. House in 2014. He ran unopposed for the Republican nomination in the primary election. He then defeated Michael Patrick McKenna (D) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[12]

Due to redistricting, Webster ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Florida's 10th District. Webster sought re-election on the Republican ticket. Val Demings ran as a Democrat. The signature filing deadline was June 8, 2012, with the primary taking place on August 14, 2012. Webster ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012. He was re-elected on November 6, 2012.[13]

Congress convened a joint session on January 6-7, 2021, to count electoral votes by state and confirm the results of the 2020 presidential election. Webster voted against certifying the electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania. The House rejected both objections by a vote of 121-303 for Arizona and 138-282 for Pennsylvania.
