I am Daniel Wong, a conservative Christian, engineer, and small-business owner running for Fort Bend County Judge. I was born in Macau and immigrated legally to the United States with nothing but faith, determination, and a belief in the American Dream. On my first day in America, I encountered both opportunity and Jesus Christ—an experience that shaped the values that guide my life and service.

I have lived in Fort Bend County for more than 35 years and am the owner of Tolunay Wong Engineers, the largest privately held civil engineering firm in Texas, employing over 400 people. My work as an engineer has focused on infrastructure, flood mitigation, and responsible growth—skills directly relevant to leading a county as large and complex as Fort Bend.

I have served as a three-term Sugar Land City Council member and have been appointed by Governors Greg Abbott and Rick Perry to statewide boards, including the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, where I help oversee a multibillion-dollar budget. I hold a PhD in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Theology.

I am a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, an elder in my church, and a firm believer that government should be ethical, efficient, and focused on serving the people—not politics. I am running for County Judge to restore trust, competence, and integrity to Fort Bend County government.
  • Lowering Property Taxes Lowering property taxes is one of my top priorities. Families, seniors, and small-business owners are being taxed out of their homes, and that is unacceptable. As County Judge, I will work to cut wasteful spending, demand accountability in the budget, and push for policies that reduce the tax burden on homeowners—not just slow the growth of taxes, but lower them.
  • Economic Development and Jobs I believe Fort Bend County should be a place where businesses want to invest and families can build a future. I will focus on attracting high-quality jobs, expanding the commercial tax base to ease pressure on homeowners, and supporting small businesses by cutting red tape. Smart, responsible growth strengthens our economy without sacrificing our quality of life.
  • Infrastructure and Flood Protection As an engineer, I understand that strong infrastructure is the foundation of a safe and thriving community. I will prioritize repairing roads, improving drainage and flood control, and holding developers accountable for building responsibly. Every resident—regardless of where they live—deserves reliable infrastructure and protection from flooding.
I am passionate about lowering property taxes, ensuring responsible infrastructure and flood protection, and promoting economic growth that benefits families and small businesses. I also care deeply about ethical, transparent government that is accountable to the people it serves.
Fort Bend Business Coalition, Former County Judge Bob Hebert, Former Commissioner James Patterson and Mayor Don McCoy.
