Daniel V. Zemaitis is a judge for the 17th Circuit Court in Kent County, Michigan. Zemaitis was elected to the court on November 5, 2002, to fill one of the vacant judgeships for Kent County. He assumed office on January 1, 2003.[1][2] Zemaitis was re-elected in 2008 and November 2014.[3] [4]

Education

Zemaitis received both his a B.A. and M.A. in history from Marquette University. He then received his J.D. degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1977.[5]

Career

Before he became a judge, Zemaitis worked as a sole practitioner for 25 years. He also previously served as a magistrate for the 59th District Court from 1990 to 2002 and as a magistrate for the 62A District Court from 1995 to 2002. He then became a circuit court judge in 2003. In addition to serving in the courts, he was a visiting professor of history and law at Grace Bible College from 1995 to 1997 and from 1999 to 2002.[5]
