Danielle Conrad (Democratic Party) is a member of the Nebraska State Senate, representing District 46. She assumed office on January 4, 2023. Her current term ends on January 6, 2027.
Conrad is running for re-election to the Nebraska State Senate to represent District 46. She declared candidacy for the primary scheduled on May 12, 2026.[source]
Biography
Danielle Conrad was born in Seward, Nebraska. She graduated from Seward High School in 1995. Conrad earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000 and a J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2003. Her career experience includes working as an attorney for the Nebraska Appleseed Center for Law in the Public Interest. In 2008, she worked as a consultant for Nebraskans United.[1][2]

Initiative rights
Conrad joined with term-limited DiAnna Schimek in early 2008 to override Gov. Dave Heineman's veto of Nebraska Legislative Bill 39, a law imposing limits on the initiative process in Nebraska.
Common Cause criticism
In 2008, Common Cause Nebraska (CCN) asserted that Conrad was acting unethically in doing paid work for Nebraskans United.
CCN spokesperson Jack Gould said that senators should not do paid work on issues they may later be asked to vote on. Conrad called his criticism "ludicrous."[3]

Conrad and her husband, Thomas, have one child. She has been involved with the Lincoln Bar Association, Lincoln YWCA, Nebraska LAPTOP Program, Nebraska State Bar Association and the Volunteers Lawyers Project. She has served on the Community Development Task Force.[6]
