I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised by a single mother, who taught me the importance of perseverance, respect of others and value of hard work. I attended Whittier College and McGeorge School of Law.

In 2003, I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and started my career at the City of Las Vegas as a Deputy City Attorney.

In 2005, I transitioned to the Clark County District Attorney's Office. I started my career prosecuting general criminal litigation matters and in 2009, I was moved to the Sexual Assault Unit of the District Attorney's Office, where I prosecuted over 75 sexual and physical abuse cases.

In 2011, I was moved to the Gang Unit and in 2012, I was promoted to the team chief of the Gang Unit and supervise up to four other attorneys. The gang unit handles gang and hate crimes in Clark County.

I am married with two step daughters.
  • A Judge should uphold the integrity and independece of the Judiciary
  • A Judge should avoid imporpriety and the appearance of impropriety in all activities.
  • A Judge should perform the duties of the office fairly, impartially and diligently.
As a judicial candidate, I cannot discuss areas of public policy which I am passionate about because of the directives of the Judicial Cannons.
My mother is the person I look up to most, because she has supported me when other did not. My mother has disciplined me when I needed it and always told me the truth, no matter how difficult that may be.

I would like to follow her example, because she has always handled herself with grace and poise, even when she faced difficult obstacles.
Integrity, transparency and equity are some of the important characteristics of an elected official.
I am optimistic, patient, persistent and have a passion for the law. I can be fair, impartial and follow the letter of the law when rendering a decision.
Integrity, transparency, equity and efficiency are the core responsibilities for a judge.
The legacy I would like to leave is to be known as a jurist who is fair and knows the law.
January 28, 1986, the day the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds after lift off. I was 13 years old. One of the astronauts on board was Ellison Onizuka, who was born and raised in Hawaii. It was historic for someone from the islands to be on board the space shuttle.

My first job was a summer job as a messenger in a civil law firm in Honolulu, Hawaii.
My favorite book is the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I loved this book from when I read it in 5th grade. In Hester Prynne's character, I saw the strength of a female character. She learned to live with the society's stigma and shame of being a single parent.
The last song which is stuck in my head is "Thank God", by Kane Brown.
I have struggled with my directness when I speak to people. I tend to be open and honest and I have realized it can sometimes be too hurtful for people. As I have matured and grown in my career, I am mindful of the necessity to choose my words carefully without loosing the heart of the message.
I will follow the law and treat the parties that appear before me with respect and dignity. I will perform my duties impartially and diligently. I will refrain from political activity.
Yes, it is an important quality, however a judge must always follow the law when making a decision.
I am running because I am the most qualified for the seat. I have 19 years of litigation experience and have tried over 50 felony jury trials.
Yes, I believe it is important for a judge to have previous experience in government, because they will have an understanding of how the system works.
My primary concern is that people have lost faith in the legal system.
I think the greatest opportunity our legal system has is to restore faith in the system.
At this point in time, I am concentrating on the Justice Court race that is before me.
It depends on how the data/information collection is performed and who is doing the rating.
