Sposito's campaign website stated the following:
Reforming our court for greater efficiency with integrity and innovation
Danielle is a consummate innovator with wonderful ideas to implement in the JP3 court. She researched previous judges who held the JP3 seat and was extremely impressed with the record of Judge John Payton, who held the seat for 30 years. The voters were well pleased with him and his contribution to the community. Danielle will strive hard to bring that same spirit and community connection back to the JP3 seat!
Addressing Court Backlog
To catch up on the court's current backlog, Danielle plans to use a multi-pronged approach:
- Focus on cases that can be resolved quickly, whether old or new, alongside older cases
- Streamline by ensuring the court has jurisdiction before hearing cases
- Save taxpayer dollars and keep the court flowing, not creating more backlog
- Identify cases that can be resolved through mediation to reduce backlog
Addressing Truancy
Bringing service and integrity back by supporting families and children in our community:
- Address truancy by assisting ISDs and parents in pinpointing and tackling why truancy is so high
- Offer student mock trial courts in conjunction with local ISDs
- Help children stay on track and succeed in life by speaking with students with parental requests
Property Owner Relief
Support for property owners in our community:
- Give property owners who submit eviction requests expedited relief
- Ensure all requests align with the legal process under Texas law
- Balance compassion with property rights
Child Protection & Welfare
Danielle abhors child abuse in all forms and will use her influence to help ensure the safety and well-being of children:
- Children are some of society's most vulnerable citizens and deserve protection
- Assist community members in sounding the alarm whenever abuse is suspected
- Work with agencies to ensure children's safety and well-being
Community Engagement
The court belongs to the people! Building trust and gathering input:
- Organize community listening sessions and/or a community advisory board
- Actively engage individuals in the JP3 court to hear concerns and get suggestions
- Gather input on problems to find potential solutions together
- Work with groups to address challenges associated with Texas Tollways
Access to Justice
Helping those who can't afford legal representation:
- Support peer-based program to bridge the gap for those without finances for representation
- Model after successful programs throughout the country
- Train members to provide limited legal assistance
- Leverage retired attorneys, judges, paralegals and legal professionals who would volunteer
Youth Education & Engagement
Inspiring the next generation:
- Local ISDs can sign up for limited field trip spots to the court
- Field trips designed to encourage students to seek careers in the judicial system
- Encourage students to do the right things to flourish in life
- Help students stay out of the judicial system in negative ways
Civic Education
Empowering voters with knowledge:
- Speak with different groups of people with various backgrounds
- Educate on how votes implement policies that affect communities
- Discuss policies that have impacted our country and communities
- Promote informed, engaged citizenship
