Danny Evans
Danny Evans is a former circuit court judge for the 27th Judicial Circuit, which presides over Knox and Laurel counties of Kentucky.[1] He was appointed by Republican Governor Matt Bevin on March 18, 2016, to fill the seat left open by the retirement of Tom Jensen.[2] He ran for election to his position on November 8, 2016.[3]

Judges of the Kentucky Circuit Courts are elected to eight-year terms in nonpartisan elections. They must run for re-election if they wish to serve subsequent terms.[5]
The chief judge is selected by his or her peers and serves a two-year term.[5]
Qualifications
In order to serve on this court, a judge must be:[5]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
- licensed to practice law for at least eight years.
