2015
The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. A runoff election took place on September 10, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 8, the candidates were Ramona L. Gholston, Nina Ground, Robert Sawyers, Sr., Chris Swann, Nancy VanReece and Danny Williams. VanReece and Swann advanced to the runoff election.[1] VanReece defeated Swann in the runoff election.[2] Incumbent Karen Bennett was term-limited. She ran for election to an at-large seat.[3]

I have lived in this community all my life and want to contribute something back to my community.

The council is involved in the city's goals, major projects and infrastructure and a desire to improve community growth. And to overlook the of finances when planning developments.
What legacy would you like to leave?
To be a public servant that would make our neighborhood to have and be a shining example to the city of Nashville.
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?
I guess when "Metro" became one government on April 1, 1963. I remember there were many people who thought this was a bad idea. One poster I saw was "Castro wanted one government!"

Working at a "full" service Gas Station.

yes, if elected, don't let the power go to your head.

The council is like the congress of the city.

previous experience is always a plus but as far as required, I don't think so.
