Darby Burns completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey in 2022. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Burns' responses. Candidates are asked three required questions for this survey, but they may answer additional optional questions as well.
Our political system is rotten with divisive malignancy. It can not be allowed to continue leveraging democratic power into authoritarian rule over the minority class. The path we're currently on is one of creeping despotism. If not averted, it will lead to horrific violence. The only chance we have is to reorient our political system towards the decentralization of political power. We need to shrink the sphere of the political (coercive) and increase the sphere of the voluntary (cooperative). We need to stop using the power of government to force our preferences on our neighbors.
We need to stop indulging the lazy, reflexive, and abusive willingness to see our opinions enshrined in law to rule over those who simply disagree with us. That way ensures conflict and violence and furthers the erosion of our society. There is a better way.
I would be honored to have your support in working to ensure that Nevada becomes the best place in the United States to live, work, build a business, raise a family, seek education, bank, invest, vacation, and retire. Our quest for political decentralization will bring us the greatest potential of achieving every quantitatively measurable constituent of these aspirations.
I’m incredibly passionate about reducing all areas of government interference and overreach in the lives of Nevadans.

Our government in Nevada RADICALLY mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic, devastating the economy, plunging Nevadan families into homelessness and joblessness. They called us non-essential.
We need to get all non-violent drug offenders out of Nevada prisons. Nevada is in need of serious criminal justice reform; There should be a very small list of violations for which the government of Nevada can constitutionally enslave someone. The jury is not still out; America lost its war on drugs. Prohibition of “illicit commodities” do nothing but hurt our economy and create market demand for violent black-markets.
I want Nevadans to be the owners of the energy produced by their solar panels, which they currently do not. The energy produced by your solar panels is purchased from you at a fixed rate, in the form of credit toward your bill to them, by a private company that has government granted monopoly over our state power grid. This inherently fascistic relationship between NV Energy and the state government is something every freedom loving American should oppose. Solar panel installations cost tens of thousands of dollars, on average, for the Nevadan home-owner. Let’s take back the individual ownership rights to the electricity we produce!
I am incredibly passionate about our fight to maximize freedom within our beautiful state; I intend to form bipartisan issue coalitions that will remove government interference from the lives of innocent Americans. I oppose the Nevada State government’s atrocious mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic and their careless economic shut downs, which absolutely devastated an about of economically lower-class which is so large that it is truly unimaginable to any meaningful degree. I oppose the imprisonment of any Nevadan for any non-violent crime; The oppression of sovereign bodily autonomy of any non violent person.
I will stand for that which maximizes freedom from government interference. I will stand for the freedom of all people, in this system that oppressed the will of its minority class.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Darby Lee Burns is working to fight the state in the name of individual liberty and voluntary interaction; In opposition of democratic oppression of the minority class.
"I intend to stand in the face of the beast and fight; To defend my fellow Nevadans' individual rights and liberties, and to work continuously at removing involuntary government interference from the lives of sovereign people. I will never compromise in our fight against oppression.
Collection of property taxes in Nevada is unconstitutional, we have to put a stop to the coercion of a free people at threat of state-backed violence against Nevadans. "All men are by Nature free and equal and have certain inalienable rights among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty; Acquiring, Possessing and Protecting property and pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness."
"To quote Ayn Rand: 'The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.' If you reject all of this authoritarian filth, please reach out to the Libertarian Party of Nevada, we're trying to help."
I am a goal-oriented logical thinker who gets the job done. I recognize individual liberty, voluntary interaction and property rights as the foundation of freedom.
When the economy was shut down in Las Vegas, I personally became homeless with my family. I am one of the countless Nevadans who were left holding the bag when Nevada State Government officials decided they controlled the on/off switch for your ability to put food in the mouthes of your families. I have been able to get back onto my feet, but I will not ever forget the people who are still left behind.
We are to never compromise on the end goal, to eradicate involuntary intervention by the state in the lives of every Nevadan; However, on our path toward this goal there are to be many compromises in regard to method and order of reductions made to intervention built into today's system as to best accommodate every citizen in their transition to a more autonomous life.
