|Concerned the next generation of his family and his fellow Oregonians will not enjoy the same opportunities he and his wife have had is the motivating factor for Darin to run for the United State Senate. The incumbent senior senator who has been in Washington for 40 years is pushing radical out of touch extreme policies that will further ruin Oregon’s natural resources, deny Oregonians their God given rights and push our citizens to greater and greater dependence on government.
- Managing our natural resources, forests & federal lands, in a sustainable, renewable and accessible fashion.
- Supporting the US constitution and amendments, freedom of speech and the second amendment.
- Securing the southern border to stop drug and human trafficking.
-Eliminating vaccine mandates and government overreach.
-Supporting law and order, law enforcement and the rule of law.

-Protecting the lives of the unborn.
-Balancing the federal budget.
-Reducing federal government regulations sending more power to the states.

Campaign website
Harbick's campaign website stated the following:
“ |
Oregon is blessed with an amazing renewable resource in the form of the world’s most productive forestlands. However, what we have seen is continued, and systemic mismanagement of this incredible resource which has led to catastrophic fires, loss of jobs in rural Oregon, and millions of tons of carbon released into our atmosphere. As Oregon’s next US Senator I will work to provide necessary resources to the US Forest Service to thin the forest, maintain forest roads, extinguish fires fast and provide good paying family wage jobs in the forest.
Solving the immigration crises on the US Southern border We must secure the southern border. That is job #1. If the current administration doesn’t do it, as a member of a new Republican majority in the US Senate beginning in 2023, I will work with my colleagues to get it done. Reforming our immigration system requiring lawful entry is key to the long term health and well being of our economy. With the demographic changes occurring in our country, ensuring a legal and lawful workforce to replace the current generation of retiring Americans is crucial.
Pandemic mandates and constitutional overreach Oregonians have accommodated the rules and mandates coming out of Salem and Washington, DC to slow and ultimately stop the march of the Covid19 pandemic. However, Oregonians have definitely reached their limit when the dictates encroach on personal medical choices and the ability of Oregonians to work and make a living. Vaccine mandates go too far and must be opposed. As your next US Senator, I will use every tool at my disposal to oppose unconstitutional mandates that violate your personal and family choices regarding vaccines.
Continued Federal Spending endangers America’s future Emergency spending during the early days of the pandemic may have been necessary in light of the government-created recession and job losses. However, the economy has largely recovered, as demonstrated by low unemployment numbers. I know this personally with jobs going unfilled in my own businesses. We must stop the runaway spending at the federal level.
Support for a Balanced Budget Amendment Continued deficit spending has created serious economic consequences for our children and grandchildren, which is why I support passing a Balanced Budget Amendment with a gradual path toward federal budget stability and fiscal sanity.
Support for the 2nd Amendment We do not need additional state or federal laws or regulations for firearms.[3] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of Oregon scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
