Position on open records
In the 2009 legislative session, Fairley has suggested that she might introduce legislation to close down the State of Washington's Sunshine Committee on the grounds that it has not produced enough to justify its continued existence. Fairley is also sponsoring three bills that make it costlier to obtain public records and to deny them to someone who didn't pay for past requests.[5]
