Darlene Ruscitti
Darlene Ruscitti was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of Illinois. Ruscitti withdrew from the race on December 21, 2011. She cited a responsibility to the Illinois Republican Party over her personal political aspirations as the primary reason for her withdrawing.[1] Shortly after withdrawing the Illinois Republican Party announced she was appointed to co-chair its statewide Victory Program.[2]
Biography
Ruscitti earned her doctorate of education from Loyola University.[3]
Elections
2012
Ruscitti was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 8th District. Ruscitti sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[4] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, and the primary took place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Joe Walsh sought re-election on the Republican ticket.
On December 21, 2011 Ruscitti withdrew from the 2012 race. She cited a responsibility to the Illinois Republican Party over her personal political aspirations as the primary reason for her withdrawing.[1]

Ruscitti has been married for 35 years to her husband Bill, a police officer. They live in Bloomingdale, Illinois, and have two adult children.[6]
