Darrell B. Cayton, Jr. is a district court judge for the 2nd Judicial District, which presides over Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell, and Washington counties of North Carolina. He was first elected to the court in 2010. Cayton was re-elected to the 2nd Judicial District Court in 2014, winning a term that expired on December 31, 2018.[1][2]

2010

Cayton was elected to the 2nd Judicial District Court. He defeated Watsi M. Sutton in the general election, winning 62.86 percent of the vote.[3]

Education

Cayton received his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from the Campbell University School of Law.[4]

Career

Before his election to the court, Cayton worked as an attorney in private practice with a specialization in civil and criminal law.[5]
