Darrell L. Gavrin
Darrell L. Gavrin was a judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. She assumed office in 2007.
Gavrin (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Education
Gavrin received her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1973 and her J.D. degree from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1976.[1][2]
Career
Gavrin served as counsel for the New York City Board of Standards & Appeals from 1977 to 1981 and was a principal law clerk for justices of the 11th District Supreme Court from 1981 to 1992. From 1988 to 1991, she was also an arbitrator for the New York City Civil Court, Queens County. In 1993, she became a judge of that court, where she served until 2006. She was also a trial judge for St. John's University's Civil Trial Institute from 1993 to 1998. In 2000, she was appointed acting justice of the supreme court and, in 2006, she was elected supreme court justice.[1]
