Campaign themes

2014

Turner's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[6]

Jobs

  • Excerpt: "Alabamians are hard working people who do everything they can to provide for themselves and their families. We need jobs that reward hard work with good pay and benefits. We need policies that give everyone a shot at the American Dream and create an economy that works for everyone--the people on Main Street and the people in Montgomery."

Education

  • Excerpt: "We all want to give our children an opportunity to succeed, and a good education is at the core of that goal. All children deserve access to a quality, public education so they have the chance to achieve their fullest potential in life. The promise of America is that we will invest in the next generation, not abandon our public schools and leave some without the chance to succeed."

Ethical Government

  • Excerpt: "The people in this state are honest, trustworthy and respectable. The people who represent them in Montgomery should be too. It's time for a representative who will steer Montgomery away from backroom deals and sweetheart contracts and act on behalf of the communities. It's time to elect a Senator who shares your values and will vote for you in Montgomery."
