Born and raised in Elbert County, Darren has dedicated his 23 year law enforcement career to serving the community, currently serving as Chief Deputy at the Sheriff’s Office. With deep roots in the area, Darren and his family are active members of the community, deeply invested in its well-being.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Vote for more community involvement: Darren aims to create programs to support youth, reintroduce initiatives like Shop with a Deputy at Christmas, and foster trust between officers and youth. He plans to regularly engage with civic groups and keep the community informed about activities.
• Vote for a working Sheriff: With 23 years of experience in law enforcement, primarily in investigations, Darren is committed to active involvement in cases, ensuring thorough follow-through and collaboration with other agencies.
• Vote for a fair and committed Sheriff: Darren pledges fairness to all, regardless of background, and promises to work tirelessly with the community and department to make Elbert County the safest it can be.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Darren is passionate about being fair and dedicated to all citizens of Elbert County.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

1976 Little League World Series held in Williams Port, PA.
At the age of 12, "Beefy" Eaves carried myself and 20 other friends by school bus to witness this annual event. This was a trip of a lifetime, and I will never forget the memories.

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

Darren is mindful of spending taxpayers hard earned money by practicing diligence in staying under or within budget.
