Darren Stridiron is an at-large representative on the Newburgh Enlarged City School District school board in New York. First elected in 2014, Stridiron won a new term in the at-large general election on May 16, 2017.
Biography
Stridiron is a resident of Orange County, New York. He graduated from Townsend Harris High School and studied at Queens College before earning an A.A.S. degree in forestry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He worked from 1999 to 2002 as a land surveyor for Maser Consulting before founding his own company in 2003, Heritage Land Surveying.[1][2]

2017
Three of the nine seats on the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education in New York were up for at-large general election on May 16, 2017. Board members Carole Mineo and Darren Stridiron filed for re-election and were joined on the ballot by former member Mark Levinstein, former candidate Sylvia Santiago, and newcomer William Walker. Mineo and Stridiron won re-election, and Walker won election to the other seat.[3][4]

Stridiron reported no contributions or expenditures to the New York State Board of Elections in the election.[5]
2016
Four of the nine at-large seats on the Newburgh Enlarged City School District school board were up for general election on May 17, 2016. Incumbents Susan Prokosch and Andrew Johnston, along with newcomer Domenic Tebano, won the three seats with a three-year term. Incumbent Darren Stridiron won the seat with a one-year term. Challengers Anthony Hood, Mark Levinstein, Sylvia Santiago, and Lissandra Deliz were defeated in the race for the four seats up for election.[6]

2014
Darren Stridiron, Kenneth Copertino, William Swart, and Carole Mineo defeated incumbents Dawn Fucheck, Mark Levinstein, and Thomas Woodhull and seven fellow challengers for the four at-large seats in the general election on May 20, 2014.
One of the seats up for election was vacated as a result of the death of board member Judith A. McAfee. Stridiron, the candidate who won election but received the fewest votes, received that seat, which carried an unexpired two-year term.[8]

Funding
Stridiron did not file a campaign finance report with the New York State Board of Elections during the election.[9][10]
Endorsements
Stridiron received endorsements from the Newburgh Teachers Association and the Region 3 chapter of the Civil Service Employees Association.[11][12]
