|My name is Darryl R Ware II and I am the youngest mayoral candidate for the city of Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 29.
I decided to run for mayor after hearing the countless gunshots, seeing the failing infrastructure, and feeling the effects of a dying economy myself.
- I’m running to keep our kids and our streets safe
- I’m running to repair our city’s crumbling infrastructure
- I’m running to build a local economy that works for everyone.
Raise the minimum wage A lot more needs to be done to ensure equal rights for all Americans regardless of their racial or ethnic backgrounds. Violent crime is a very big local problem Churches and religious organizations are having a positive effect on the way things are going in the country these days The economic system in this country unfairly favors powerful interests Government is almost always wasteful and inefficient Favor free tuition at public colleges and universities The number of legal immigrants the U.S. admits should increase Approve of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president The Democratic Party makes me feel hopeful Government should do more to solve problems Government regulation of business is necessary to protect the public interest Government often does a better job than people give it credit for Voting gives people like me some say about how government runs things The U.S. should phase out the use of oil, coal and natural gas completely, relying instead on renewable energy sources only People who have immigrated to the U.S. illegally generally make the communities they live in better Tax rates on large businesses and corporations should be raised Government regulation of business is necessary to protect the public interest
There are still significant obstacles that make it harder for women to get ahead than men America's openness to people from all over the world is essential
