I’m serving my sixth year as the elected Auditor of O’Hara Township, and last year, I exposed 32 million dollars of county-enabled tax evasion through my audit of UPMC’s private parking lots. Corporations have too much power in Allegheny County, largely through political contributions. Taking money from corporate PACs presents a clear conflict of interest, especially for our County’s auditor and contract enforcer. I’m the only candidate for County Controller refusing campaign donations from UPMC, Highmark, and/or other corporate PACs. I’ve also won 13 cases against the current County Controller to require greater transparency of contract compliance. A second-generation Taiwanese American, I graduated from Fox Chapel Area High School before earning a degree in Computer Science at Yale. I have the relevant technical background for the office, and my platform includes: countywide parcel review to crack down on tax evasion from corporations and alleged “nonprofits”; auditing clean air enforcement and making sure the Clean Air Fund benefits impacted communities; and enforcing health and nutrition contracts in our jail, which has soaring overtime costs and a death rate of about twice the national average.

Audits and contract enforcement! I have a technical background, so I'm most personally passionate about digging into spreadsheets and databases to save money and make our government work better.
