The recall petition was brought forth by several former employees of the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office. Crandall was accused of not being cooperative and creating a hostile work environment. The petition language said that, "Sheriff Crandall has not followed campaign promises of working for the community, cooperation with surrounding counties and communication with citizens."[1]
Path to the ballot
Recall organizers would have needed to gather 1,056 signatures by September 1, 2010 to force a special recall election.[1] The effort fell short by 150 signatures.[2]
