Dat Tran is the former acting secretary of veterans affairs in the Biden administration. He assumed office on January 20, 2021, and left office after Denis McDonough was confirmed in February 2021.[1]
Biography
Tran graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in industrial systems engineering. He worked as the manufacturing operations manager for Square D Electrical Company prior to his government service.[2]
Tran was a staff member on the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs from 1995 to 2001. He also worked as the deputy assistant secretary for Data Governance and Analysis.[2]
As of 2021, Tran was the principal deputy assistant secretary at the Office of Enterprise Integration in the Department of Veterans Affairs.[2]
