Chapman ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent California's 18th District. He and district 14 incumbent Anna Eshoo (D) advanced past the blanket primary on June 5, 2012, defeating William Parks (D) and Carol Brouillet (G). They faced off in the general election on November 6, 2012, and Eshoo won.[1][2][3]
