Candidate Connection

Dave Ferguson participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 10, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Dave Ferguson's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Create a tax and regulatory system the promotes growth and job creation.

2) Ensure schools receive fair funding and maintain local control.
3) Solve the Opiod epidemic by providing first responders the resources they need, including stronger penalties for drug dealers.[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

My background is business finance. As Managing Director of Transmission Finance for a large Electric Utility in Ohio, I see first hand what over regulation and inconsistent tax codes can do to an economy. That's why I want to simplify the tax code and regulatory environment to promote growth and job creation in Ohio.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Dave Ferguson answered the following:

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Principled Leadership. I believe that all elected officials owe it their families and to their communities to stand for what is right.[3]
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I will put Ohio families first, not special interest groups and lobbyists. I believe at the state level you have the opportunity to positively impact the daily life in our communities and I want to be able to do that for my community.[3]
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
My family.[3]
