- Every single person who places her or his name on the ballot must understand the importance of safety to those in our neighborhood.
- Independence. This is the first time the south side has had its own judicial district. It should not be controlled or influenced by politicians. Independence is critical to an objective, fair, judiciary.
- Temperament. I have made it a practice to get along -and yes even laugh with - opposing counsel. Why? Because how we treat each other in the judicial system is as important as the scorecard. For those who are entrusted with the responsibility to sit in judgment, a very high honor, we can never forget that the decisions made affect the lives of our neighbors. Exercising that judgment with integrity, respect, and in a congenial manner to those who stand before a judge is important.
