Dave Kerner is a former Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 87 from 2012 to 2016. Kerner withdrew his bid for re-election to seek a position with the Palm Beach County Commission.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Dave Kerner was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[6][7]

Kerner won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 87. Kerner defeated Mike Rios in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012, and was unchallenged in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8]
