Two of seven seats on the Manitowoc School District Board of Education were up for general election on April 4, 2017. Incumbent Karen Rohrer and former board member Dave Longmeyer ran unopposed for election to the board. Incumbent Barbara Herrmann did not file for re-election.[2]

Three of the seven seats on the Manitowoc School District school board were up for general election on April 5, 2016. Incumbents Keith Shaw, Dave Longmeyer, and Dave Nickels all filed for re-election. They were joined on the ballot by challengers Elizabeth Williams, James Koldoff, and James Leist. Nickels, Shaw, and Williams defeated the other candidates to win seats on the school board.[3]
