Most importantly and the best total I will ever have is dad to my 13 year old daughter. As a United States Air Force Veteran, I learned the undeniable importance of integrity. I served our country for 11 years while in the 110th Michigan Air National Guard, U.S. Air Force Reserves and Desert Storm. My public service continued when I served as a police officer in South Haven and a reserve duty officer for the Pennfield Charter Township Police Department. I have been honored to serve as Pennfield Charter Township's Supervisor, the same community I grew up in. I have enjoyed being a member of many important organizations in our community such as the American Legion, the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce, the Pennfield Lions Club, The Battle Creek Area Board of Realtor's, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainman, The Fraternal Order of Police, as well as serving on the Kalamazoo Literacy Council.

During my life, I have actively sought ways to give back to the community. I have worked as a manager as well as a Locomotive Engineer for Amtrak, in the transportation field, since 1996. For over 20 years, I served as a high school and college sports official, coach, and volunteer. As your State Representative I will always "Put People Before Politics" I am ready and eager to continue to serve the community and the 62nd District, as YOUR Representative.

  • Jobs/Economy: Our States economy has been devastated by not only COVID-19 and many families have been left fighting just to be able to pay their bills. Way to many people have lost their jobs and their ability to provide for their families at no fault of their own. As your State Representative and a proud member of the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce, I will always fight to bring opportunities and jobs to our district, get taxes to the lowest levels possible. Nobody has ever been taxed into prosperity and never will be. I will work with our small business and labor leaders, and count on them for their expert advice on what can be done in Lansing in order to benefit job growth in our Community."
  • Education: The education of every Michigan citizen from early education through K-12 is of crucial importance. We must also reach out to those who might have made bad choices early in life and give them an opportunity to better themselves trough a strong adult education program. I see this as a worthwhile and incredibly important investment in the future social and economic welfare of our community and state
  • Infrastructure/Taxpayer"s Investment: As your State Representative I will take a very active active role and work with our local leaders throughout the 62nd District to bring our roads in our back to safe and the level of quality we all deserve. Act-51 which currently provides the guidance on road funding must be revised in order to get funding to our townships and all of our municipalities.
My main area I will focus on and am very passionate about is we need a State Representative who will fight full time for our communities. This is not a part time job nor is it a job where you can walk in the room for 3 minutes and leave. My job will be to bring as many resources, jobs and opportunities as possible back to our district. Each and everyday I will fight for our district.

As a veteran I have always fought for those who were willing to put their life on the line for our country and I have remained an advocate to make sure they are never forgotten. As a small business owner I understand we need to do all we can to make sure those who are willing to invest in our community and provide jobs are always put in the best possible position to be successful. As a Union and Labor leader I have never forgotten the fight our brother and sisters went through to bring us safer work places, better wages, and life long opportunities. Most importantly I understand that big business and labor can thrive together. I will work hard each day to bring these two powerhouses together and when that happens we all win and our community will benefit for decades to come.

My best quality is the ability to bring people together. There is not one elected official who can really solve any of our issues but when you surround yourself with the brightest and the best together you can change the world.
When you are honored and elected to serve the hard working families of your district you should do just that. These are positions which are full time with full time pay and benefits. While our current state representative has decided to work another job and shortchanging our community that simply
Without a doubt my daughter is the most important part of my life and I want to do everything I can to make sure not only she has as many opportunities as possible but every child does as well. When I have passed the best tribute I think I could receive is people remembering me as someone who did not give up, who lived a life of integrity, and someone who did as much as possible to help others.
My first job was delivering Newspapers for the Battle Creek Enquirer and News. I continued this job for about 1 year. Later in life I returned back to the Enquirer and News as a Photographer.
Willy Wonka - In the worst of times if you do not give up great things can and will happen!
Everyone in life will face adversity and struggles in life. For myself I can overcome anything and keep going but the loss of my Mother in 2011 by far has been not only my biggest struggle but something I think about everyday.
Absolutely, the job of every elected official is to work for the people and our communities. The most effective way to do this is through relationships which are built. We are never going to agree on every issue but in almost every case there is a way to come to an agreement where it is a win-win situation. Our state no longer can survive on elected officials who want to go it alone only to prove they are the toughest person in the state. When all is said and done I will have strong relationships on both sides of the isle and our district is going to be better off because of that.

No, and I have known in my heart for a long time that I am going to be able to make a positive impact on our community as our State Representative. I have lived here my entire life and seen the best and worst of times. This has always been the place I call home and I will not stop until our district returns to a place where opportunities once again are available to people who call the 62nd District home.
