Dave Ross
Dave Ross was the Republican Mayor of Superior, Wisconsin from 2003-2010. He unsuccessfully ran for lieutenant governor in 2010.[1][2]
Biography
Ross is member of the Wisconsin Development Association, was a past director of the Wisconsin League of Municipalities. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, Superior Business Improvement District, Superior-Douglas County Development Association, Great Ships Initiative and the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Mayors Initiative.
Political career
Mayor of Superior, Wisconsin (2003-2010)
Ross was a small businessman in Superior prior to his election as Mayor when he was elected with 58% of the vote in an area that has been traditionally Democrat. Ross ran on the Republican ticket and was re-elected in 2007 with 62% of the vote. Ross ran as a strong fiscal conservative. His accomplishments as Mayor include containing taxes while eliminating $3.5 million in structural costs for the city, instituting a plan to eliminate 28 million in general obligation debt, and reversing negative cash flow in the city's golf course, landfill and health fund accounts. During his term of office Superior's growth has been rated as second highest in the state.[3]

Ross unsuccessfully ran for the Republican nomination for Wisconsin lieutenant governor in 2010. He came in third in the September 14, 2010,primary.

Ross ran for Mayor as a fiscal conservative, promising smaller, more efficient and cost effective government.

Ross was born in Superior, March 9th, 1952. He grew up in a small business family and ran his own upholstery business in Superior for twenty years. He and his wife, Lynn have four daughters and ten grandchildren.
